The Kaliningrad coastal station of the marine area A1 GMDSS successfully passes the re-examination

According to the results of the re-examination carried out by Rosmorrechflot, the Kaliningrad department of the North-Western Basin Branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" received a certificate No. GMDSS-3/1-3265-2022 dated 08.07.2022 on the compliance of the Kaliningrad coastal station of the marine area A1 GMSSB with the requirements of the Order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia No. 226 dated 23.07.2015.

The Kaliningrad coastal station of the marine area A1 GMDSS has been operating since 1999. In 2004, it was transferred to the economic management of FSUE "Rosmorport". Since its commissioning, the coastal station has undergone technical re-equipping twice, and has been successfully examined four times for compliance with the current requirements for these facilities.

As part of the latest technical re-equipment carried out between 2020 to 2021, the Kaliningrad department relocated the coastal station control center to the existing facility of FSUE "Rosmorport", and also completely replaced all the hardware facilities of both the control center and the existing radio base station No. 1 in the village of Sinyavino. In order to expand the area of operation of the A1 GMDSS marine area to the northern part of the Curonian Spit coast, a radio base station No. 2 was built, the equipment of which was installed at the existing facility of the company in the village of Lesnoy located at the Curonian Spit.

Currently, the coastal station consists of a control center and two radio base stations.

The range of radio base station No. 1 is 21.8 sea miles, and the range of radio base station No. 2 is 23.9 sea miles.

The Kaliningrad coastal station of the marine area A1 GMDSS carries out continuous monitoring and radio exchange on the GMDSS distress frequencies in the VHF range, operational communication between vessels and the maritime rescue coordination center in the Kaliningrad seaport for organizing rescue operations, and performs automatic procedures for handling distress calls, urgent calls and secure calls.
