Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and the search team “Ships of the Great Victory” visit the Semyon Dezhnev icebreaker FSUE “Rosmorport”

The delegation of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, headed by the deputy Boris Vishnevsky, visited the North-Western basin branch. The meeting devoted to the work of the search team “Ships of the Great Victory” was held on the icebreaker Semyon Dezhnev. The guests were met by Denis Osipov - the acting captain of the icebreaker - the grandson of the Yevgeny Osipov - Hero of the Soviet Union, the captain of the 3rd rank, the commander of the submarine Shch-406.

During the visit, a tour of the icebreaker was organized for the guests, where Denis Osipov talked about the technical and functional capabilities of the ship, its features and history.

The founder of the reconnaissance and diving team, Konstantin Bogdanov, apprised the visitors of the activities of the team to search for submarines that went missing in the waters of the Gulf of Finland during the Great Patriotic War. By the end of 1945, there were 24 such boats, 21 boats have been found by now thanks to the team’s efforts, 3 more are presumably located in Estonia.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed hope for cooperation.
