Aids to navigation transferred to the North-Western Basin Branch in the seaport of Vysotsk

Pursuant to Resolution No 583-r of December 11, 2017 issued by Russia’s Federal Agency for Property Management Territorial Division for St Petersburg and Leningrad Region aids to navigation in the seaport of Vysotsk have been assigned to FSUE “Rosmorport” on the basis of the right of economic management and by order of FSUE “Rosmorport” they have been placed under the North-Western Basin Branch management.

In particular, the branch has been given five marine lights located on Cape Veprevsky, Severny Berezovy Island, on Challi Rock, the northern edge of Rondo Island, the southeastern edge of Vikhrevoy Island and on the western coast of Igrivy Island. These navigation markers are designed for identifying a certain section of the sea or a coastal line and determine a ship’s position within the limits of the visibility distance on the approaches to the seaport of Vysotsk.

Moreover, the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch has been given three navigational range markers:

- the Igrivy rear navigational range marker, which is designed for identifying an axis of the longitudinal pilot fairway (Fairway No 4) on the section from Krestovy Light Tower to Pilot Light Buoy with the coordinates of Latitude=60°34,50'N Longitude=028°24,45'Е jointly with the front navigational range marker currently under the supervision of Russia’s Navy Hydrographic Service. Fairway No 4 is used by vessels to ensure navigation safety on the approaches toward the seaport of Vysotsk;

- the Khallikivi front navigational range marker and the Ostry rear navigational range marker designed for identifying three knees (the direction of vessel movement 41,5° - 221,5°) of the axis of Fairway No 6 (on the section of the Vyborg fairway) of the seaport of Vysotsk. The fairway is used by vessels to ensure navigation safety while moving to berths of the seaport.

Simultaneously the North-Western Basin Branch has been given two marine lights designed for all-year-round orientation of ship owners on the approaches toward the seaport of Vysotsk. The Vyborg marine light is designed for identifying the northern edge of the Vyborg bank. The Povorotny marine light identifies the northern edge of Mayachny Island.

Earlier, the marine lights and navigational range markers given to the North-Western Basin Branch were used by Russia’s Navy Hydrographic Service.
