FSUE “Rosmorport” takes part in the XXII World Dredging Congress (WODCON XXII)

Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch Sergei Pylin and Deputy Director for Capital Construction and Operation of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch Tatyana Mikhailova took part in the XXII World Dredging Congress (WODCON XXII) in Shanghai, China, on April 23-25, 2019.

The summit is held triennially. This year it is devoted to environmental security during dredging operations. Over 500 participants from 20 world countries gathered to exchange views on and discuss prospects for and technological innovation, which will facilitate environmental security in the context of dynamically developing business.

During the forum, representatives of the North-Western Basin Branch met with one of the organizers of the summit – China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) to consider projects for developing sea terminals of the Baltic Basin till the year 2024. The implementation of these projects will allow for increasing the existing cargo turnover of Russia’s Baltic Basin seaports by about 100 million tons.

Representatives of the Chinese company said they wished to take part in future tenders to be organized by FSUE “Rosmorport” to carry out dredging operations during the construction of sea terminals.

China Communications Construction Company is the world’s largest corporation in the field of hydraulic engineering construction. The company has rich experience on carrying out dredging operations in Russia, as well as in European and African countries. The company has the vast dredging fleet, including over 80 dredgers and auxiliary vessels of different types with the gross installed capacity of about 600,000 kW. The annual volume of dredging operations carried out by CCCC exceeds 350 million cubic meters.

In 2015 during the construction of an approach canal and an operational water area of the Bronka multiple marine transshipment center in the seaport of Big Port St Petersburg subject to a subcontractor agreement with BaltStroy JSC CCCC carried out dredging operations using its own resources in the amount of over 13.0 million cubic meters. Over 20 pieces of the company’s fleet were used to carry out the operations.
