Aids to navigation given to North-Western Basin Branch Kaliningrad Directorate

In compliance with Resolution No. 247-r of 19.07.2019 issued by the Federal Agency for State Property Management Territorial Division in the Kaliningrad region aids to navigation located within the territory and the operational water area of the sea terminal for receiving, storing and gasifying LNG in the seaport of Kaliningrad have been assigned for FSUE “Rosmorport on the basis of the right of economic management. Pursuant to the delivery and acceptance act aids to navigation have been placed under management of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch.

Particularly, four special-purpose light sea buoys designed for defining an area of safe vessel mooring to a berth of the sea terminal have been handed over to the Kaliningrad Directorate.

Two marine lights “Northern LNG Terminal” located on the northernmost tip of the terminal berth and “Southern LNG Terminal” located on the southernmost tip have been also given to the Kaliningrad Directorate. They are designed for defining a ship’s position within the announced visibility distance of lights and ensuring navigation safety of vessels on the approaches of the terminal.

Besides, two sidelights installed on concrete protecting structures and other navigation equipment have been given to the Kaliningrad Directorate. They are designed for establishing the dimensions of concrete structures and ensuring navigation safety of vessels on the approaches toward the terminal.

The sea terminal for receiving, storing and gasifying LNG in the seaport of Kaliningrad was built and put into operation in March 2019. Gas carriers of up to 295 meters in length, 46.4 meters in breadth and 12.5 meters in load draught can be handled in the sea terminal with the capacity of up to 2.3 million tons.
