Excursions to the Mir Sailing Ship and Vladivostok Icebreaker

In the period of October 12 to 14, 2015 the North-Western Basin Branch organised several visits to the Mir Training Sailing Ship and Vladivostok icebreaker for students of 7-9 grades of physical and mathematical lyceum No. 239 of the city of Saint Petersburg.

Crew members conducted a highlight tour around the sailing ship for the students, told them about the cadet life on board during practice training and showed numerous awards for victories and participation in international regattas of training sailing ships.

The students even had an opportunity to visit the newest Vladivostok icebreaker, which on October 9, 2015 joined the world's largest FSUE “Rosmorport” icebreaker fleet. During the excursions the students had access to the deck-house and central operation deck of the icebreaker. The crew members told the children in detail about its designation and distinctive features, that differ from other icebreakers of the branch, and also answered all questions.
