Finnish Marine Pilots Visit Saint-Petersburg

Representatives of the Pilotage Service of Finland from 14 to 16 May 2014 made a visit to Saint-Petersburg.

During the visit the guests went to the North-West Basin Branch, where they met Sergey Pylin, Director of the North-West Basin Branch, Pyotr Parinov, Head of the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg Administration, and other representatives of the branch and the port authorities. The meeting was focused on the prospects for cooperation of Russian and Finnish pilotage services, operating in the Baltic Sea and the Eastern part of the Finnish Bay.

The North-West Basin Branch officers showed their Finnish counterparts a presentation about the branch and then exchanged their opinions on the peculiarities of pilotage service management in the North-West Basin Branch and the Pilotage Service Department of Finland.

To sum up the results of the meeting, the Finnish pilots visited the North-West Basin Branch pilotage service, and made a tour of the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg water area on one of the branch’s crew boats.
