In Baltiysk on December 19, 2013 a ceremony was held on the occasion of completion of the storage platform construction for the storage of containers with the area of 2.6 hectares and the platform for parking of trucks at the territory of the container terminal. The ceremony was attended by A.N. Moshkov, Deputy Director of the North-West Basin Branch – the Kaliningrad department Chief, and S.Kh. Batov, General Director of the LLC "Baltic Stevedoring Company", as well as representatives of the Kaliningrad region business community.

Construction of the named facilities was carried out in the framework of the 2011 investment agreement between FSUE "Rosmorport" and LLC "Baltic Stevedoring Company" for the development of cargo and passenger car ferry and railway ferry terminals in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region, including the construction and subsequent operation of the container terminal with capacity of 300,000 TEU.

Commissioning of the new storage areas at the terminal in Baltiysk will soon result in 48% increase of the container terminal capacity bringing it up to 260,000 TEU per year.
