The conclusion of the state ecological expert commission was approved

By the order of Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision from April, 28th, 2010 № 330 the conclusion of the state ecological expert commission concerning design documentation “Development of the Sea Trading Port of Ust-Luga. Subsidiary Service Fleet Base in the Seaport of Ust-Luga” was approved.

The design documentation was recognized as satisfying the ecological requirements.

Subsidiary service fleet base in the seaport of Ust-Luga is intended for:
- Mooring and service of port fleet vessels (tows, pilotage vessels, oil-spill boats, boom installation vessels and others);
- Collecting and treatment of a waste of all vessels coming into the seaport of the Ust-Luga;
- Monitoring and liquidation of oil spills.

FSUE “Rosmorport” is client/developer of the subsidiary service fleet base construction in the seaport of Ust-Luga.

The base is supposed to be placed in the water area of Luga Bay and adjoining territory to the southeast from the coal terminal, to the north from river Khabolovka mouth, and to the north from the motor-railway ferry complex.

The design documentation was developed on the basis of general development plan of the port.

The documentation provides expenses for ecological support of the construction, compensation of environmental damage and payments for negative impact on the environment during the construction.

The beginning of the construction is planned for 2010. Subsidiary service fleet base will be put in operation in 2012.

Realization of the given project will exclude the possibility of dumping in waters of Gulf of Finland, allow 24-hour monitoring and liquidation of oil spills, provide new level of ecological safety of the seaport of Ust-Luga and bring the powerful contribution to maintenance of environmental protection of the Luga Bay and adjoining territories.
