By Decree of the Russian Government No. 2245-r dated August 17, 2021, a decision was made to close the seaports of Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, Moskalvo and Poronaysk for servicing and call of foreign vessels.

This decision was made due to the economic inexpediency of their further maintenance, and also given the fact that the territories and water areas of these seaports are included in the boundaries of the seaport of Korsakov.
