According to order. No. 2466-r of the Russian Federation Government dated December 2, 2015 Severo-Kurilsk, Kurilsk, Yuzhno-Kurilsk marine cargo-passenger permanent multilateral checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation in the seaport of Nevelsk were closed.

The closure of the said separate checkpoints is due to the fact that in their stead in Severo-Kurilsk, Kurilsk, Yuzhno-Kurilsk sea terminals there will operate sections of the permanent unified sea cargo-passenger multilateral checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation in the seaport of Nevelsk, perimeters of which were approved earlier by order No. 204-OD of Rosgranitsa dated August 17, 2015.
