On 11 December 2014 a public meeting was held in the Sakhalin Branch to discuss materials on environmental impact assessment for the project “Repair dredging in Korsakov seaport for a period of 5 years”. The branch is planning to realize the project in order to maintain rated depths at berths No. 1 – 4 of the South area and at berths No. 4 – 8 of the North area of Korsakov seaport.

Administration of municipal entity of the Korsakov Region, the Sakhalin Branch officers and representatives of project organizations participated in the meeting.

Following the public meeting results, shown in Minutes dated 11.12.2014, no negative positions or negative attitude to the planned activities among public were revealed. The repair dredging project in Korsakov seaport for a period of 5 years can be realized on condition that it complies with the requirements of ecological and industrial safety.

Now the project documentation was sent to Rosprirodnadzor in order to coordinate the place where the state ecological expertise is to be held. It is planned to start works on the project after positive decision of the expertise is given.
