Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy Sea Area A1 GMDSS Coast Station undergoes regular survey

Based on the results of the survey made by Rosmorrechflot, FSUE “Rosmorport” has obtained the Certificate dated May 23, 2022 of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy Sea Area A1 GMDSS coast station conformity to IMO Resolution A.801(19) and the requirements of Russia’s Ministry of Transport Order No. 226 of July 23, 2015.

The coast station was put into operation in 2002 and transferred to the economic management of FSUE “Rosmorport” in 2010.

From 2002 till present, the coast station has successfully undergone 4 periodic surveys obtaining corresponding certificates of its compliance to the current requirements for the operation of such equipment.

The Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy Sea Area A1 GMDSS coast station consists of a control center located in the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and a base radio station located on Sapun-Gora.

The operational range of the coast station is 7 nautical miles.

The coast station provides:

– continuous radio watch and radio exchange with vessels in the VHF range of the maritime mobile service and via radiotelephony mode;

– operational communication between vessels and the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky sea rescue coordination sub-center of FSBI “Administration of Sakhalin, Kuriles and Kamchatka Seaports” for organizing search and rescue operations;

– automatic execution of procedures for processing the distress, urgency and security calls using digital selective call technology for vessels at sea within the area defined in accordance with the criteria established by the IMO for GMDSS Sea Area A1 coast radio stations, and for security purposes.
