New boundaries of the Russian border checkpoint in the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky established

Under Russian Transport Ministry Order No 211 of May 29, 2018, new boundaries of a cargo and passenger permanent multifaceted Russian Federation border inspection point in the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky have been approved.

Compared to the previous order No 188-OD of September 8, 2014 issued by the Russian Border Services Agency, the sections of Berth No 6 and Berth No 7, as well as the premises of the 1st and 2nd floors of the sea terminal building have been included in the sections of the Russian border checkpoint. The sections and premises are designed for deploying the border services, customs service and the sanitary and veterinary supervision services.

The new sea terminal in the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was built on the site of the dismantled old building and put into operation in 2017.

In order to prepare the 2018 cruise season the Petropavlovsk Branch carried out a wide range of works to install necessary inspection and search equipment in the building of the sea terminal designed for organizing the Russian border inspection point for passengers arriving at the seaport on cruise vessels.

The corresponding works were successfully completed in May 2018 and, based on the results of the work of the inter-departmental commission established, full compliance of the post’s facilities located in the building of the sea terminal with the requirements imposed on the construction, reconstruction, equipment and technological infrastructure of buildings, premises and structures necessary to organize border, customs and other control points made in the post to the cross the Russian border, was established.

The opening of a modern checkpoint in the building of the sea terminal with the capacity of more than 300 people per hour allows for starting the work to check passengers crossing the border of the Russian Federation in sea transport in the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on full scale.
