Light Floating Warning Sign Set in Kamchatka River Estuary

Before the beginning of the summer navigation 2014 the Petropavlovsk branch has successfully conducted an operation to set light buoy No. 3414 of type BMS-78 axial in the Kamchatka river estuary.

In accordance with the description "Lights and signs the Pacific coast of Russia" published by the Department of Navigation and Oceanography of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the floating warning sign was set in 1.8 miles to the south-south-west from the Reydoviy lighthouse.

The exact location of its installation is redefined every year depending on the position of the channel on the reef (sand submerged shoal).

During the summer navigation from June till November the light buoy will be used to indicate the entrance at the estuary of the Kamchatka River, in order to provide navigation safety of the vessels following from the Kamchatka Bay to the berths of the Ust-Kamchatsk terminal of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky seaport.
