The FSUE "Rosmorport" Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch provides pilotage services for all types and sizes of vessels, arriving at sea ports of Anapa, Gelendzhik, Eysk, Kavkaz, Novorossiysk, Taman, Temryuk and Tuapse.
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Pilotage Service consists of 190 pilots: 119 pilots of the 1st class, 66 - of the 2nd class and 5 trainee pilots.
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Pilotage Service specialists have high professional skills and huge practical experience. The Branch's pilots' training meets the requirments of the Statute on Maritime Pilots, approved by Mintrans Order dated 06.11.2020 № 462.
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch pilots' and pilot candidates' professional skills improvement and simulator training is carried out at Russian and foreign professional educational institutes, as Admirala Ushakova State Naval University, Makarova Saint-Petersburg State Naval Academy, Plekhanova Russian Economic Academy, Sedova Water Transport Institute, Vega Navigation Traning Centre (Rostov-na-Donu), GALS Non-governmental Educational Training Institution (Rostov-na-Donu).
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Pilotage Service disposes of necessary pilot boats and transport for timely pilots delivery to a vessel.
2. Information on Pilotage Areas
Sea port of Anapa
In accordance with the Obligatory regulations on the sea port of Novorossiysk (with Anapa port point) and the sea port of Gelendzhik, approved by the sea port of Novorossiysk Administration in 2005, pilotage is obligatory in the sea port of Anapa (borders are set by the Government of Russian Federation Decree dated 24.02.2009 № 235-р) for all Russian and foreign vessels.

The sea port of Anapa areas of inport and outport pilotage are to be paid on different purposes:
- inport pilotage area in the seaport of Anapa is a water area of the seaport sector № 1, limited by the coastline, by parallel 44°54,85'N and meridians 37°18,00'E and 37°18,84'E and a water area of the seaport sector № 5 limited by the coastline and lines connecting the following points:
№ 1: 44°45'22,40"N; 37°23'30,00"Е;
№ 2: 44°45'00,00"N; 37°23'30,00"E;
№ 3: 44°45'00,00"N; 37°22'00,00"E;
№ 4: 44°46'10,00"N; 37°22'10,00"E;
№ 5: 44°46'10,00"N; 37°23'09,40"E.
- outport pilotage area - pilotage beyond the inport pilotage area as far as the embarkation/debarkation points in the seaport of Anapa water area sectors № 1 and № 5.

Sea port of Gelendzhik
In accordance with the Obligatory regulations, pilotage is obligatory in the sea port of Gelendzhik water area (borders are set by the Government of Russian Federation Decree dated 24.02.2010 № 199-р) for all Russian and foreign vessels of 200+ tons gross capacity.


The sea port of Gelendzhik areas of inport and outport pilotage are to be paid on different purposes:
- inport pilotage within the seaport of Gelendzhik interior water area limited by a line connecting the Tonky cape and Tolsty cape and by the coast line with the seaport’s berths;
- an outport pilotage, which takes place beyond the seaport’s interior water area as far as embarkation/debarkation point (44º32,6'N; 38º00,9'E).
Embarkation and debarkation for vessels calling at/leaving the seaport of Gelendzhik is executed in the pilot meeting point (44º32,6'N; 38º00,9'E, Gelendzhik lighthouse, bearing 255°, distance 1,5 miles). Debarkation takes place in berths of the seaport.
Sea port of Novorossiysk
In accordance with the Obligatory regulations, pilotage is obligatory in the sea port of Novorossiysk (borders are set by the Government of Russian Federation Decree dated 12.08.2009 № 1161-р) for all Russian and foreign vessels.

The sea port of Novorossiysk areas of inport and outport pilotage are to be paid on different purposes:
- pilotage and mooring operations (mooring, deberthing, anchoring to mooring buoys and single point moorings (SPM), vessel shifting along the berth) in the sea port of Novorossiysk within the region № 670 and the seaport of Novorossiysk internal water area situated in the Novorossiysk bay top to the north from a line connecting Western and Eastern piers, are considered to be inport;
- the pilotage beyond the interior seaport water area, and also beyond the region № 670 is an outport one.

Pilot embarkation for vessels calling at the seaport of Novorossiysk is implemented in the point 44º37,8'N; 37º52,1'E. When going to the SPM of the sea terminal KTK-P, embarkation is implemented in the point 44º34,1'N; 37º38,5'E. If the embarkation is impossible due to the heavy weather conditions, a leading pilotage can be executed, by approbation of the vessel’s captain and the Novorossiysk VTS Center.
Pilot debarkation for vessels leaving the seaport of Novorossiysk is implemented in the point 44º38,7'N; 37º50,2' E. When departure from SPM of the sea terminal KTK-P, the debarkation takes place in the point 44º34,1'N; 37º37,5'E.
Pilot embarkation/debarkation to a pilot boat connected with shifting or any other vessel replacement within the seaport water area takes place at berths №№ 34, 34а, 35 of the seaport of Novorossiysk.
Embarkation point being changed, a leading pilotage from the set embarkation point to the actual point is executed by captain’s approbation.
Sea port of Eysk
In accordance with the Mintrans of Russia order dated 12.04.2010 №86, the pilotage is obligatory in the sea port of Eysk water area (borders are set by the Government of Russian Federation Decree dated 22.04.2009 №549-р).

In other areas of the Azov Sea pilotage services are provided by the Eysk Subdivision on a contract basis on request.
The sea port of Eysk areas of inport and outport pilotage are two be paid on different purposes:
- the inport pilotage includes outer harbor and the Eastern basin of the seaport of Yeysk from the entrance gates borders, marked by navigation light signs of west and east piers as far as the seaport of Yeysk berths;
- the outport pilotage area is set:
a) in the area from the entrance buoy of the seaport of Yeysk as far as the entrance gates borders, marked by navigation light signs of west and east piers (pilots` embarkation and debarkation for an obligatory outport pilotage - 46°45,00'N 38°14,32´E), the distance - 1.5 nautical miles;
b) through the Azob Sea recommended route (RR) №32(133,8о- 313,8о), then - near the floating buoy of the Krivaya Spit, then - to the north-west from the northern buoy of the Dolgaya Spit (46°50,7'N 37°30,6´E), transfer to the RR №53 (20,3о- 200,3о), the distance - 132 nautical miles.


Pilots' embarkation/debarkation is executed at the point 46°45,00'N 38°14,32´E, and debarkation/embarkation for the inport pilotage is executed at the seaport’s berths.
In case of pilotage services provision for remoorage or other vessel's transportation operation, a pilot is embarkated/debarkated from/to the boat, used for a pilot delivery.
In case of non-obligatory pilotage in the Azov Sea area, embarkation/debarkation is executed at the point 45°23,50'N 36°41,50´E (northern moorage №455), and debarkation/embarkation - at the point 46°45,00'N 38°14,32´E (sea port of Eysk reid).

In case of adverse weather conditions the embarkation/debarkation point may be changed, and with the acceptance of a vessel's captain, the pilotage services may be provided to the point, where safe pilot receprion is possible, by leader method.
During the winter navigation the pilotage for vessels calling at/leaving the seaport of Yeysk is implemented with the assistance of an icebreaker.
Sea port of Kavkaz
In accordance with the Mintrans of Russia order dated 12.04.2010 №86, the pilotage is obligatory in the sea port of Kavkaz water area (borders are set by the Government of Russian Federation Decree dated 12.08.2009 № 1150-р).
The sea port of Kavkaz areas of inport and outport pilotage are two be paid on different purposes:
- inport pilotage is provided in 3 water areas of the sea port:
a) area, bordered by the line connecting points №12 (°20'47,25"N 36°39'46,44"Е) and №13 (45°20'48,81" N 36°39'51,66" Е), and area №1 borders connecting following points:

№11 45°20'31,05"N 36°40'03,56"Е;

- outport pilotage is provided in following water areas of the sea port:
а) for vessels moving to the sea port of Kavkaz from the Black Sea side to a pilot's reception point at the fairway №52 bend 13º-193º, 1 mile away from buoys №№19,20 (45º17'12"N 36º28'45"E) of the Kerch-Enikalskiy Channel (KEC). The distance - 9.5 nautical miles;
b) for vessels moving to the sea port of Kavkaz from the Azov Sea side to a pilot's reception point in the south-western part of the moorage №455 area (45º22'00"N 36º41'00"E) to the inport pilotage area borders of the sea port of Kavkaz. The distance - 2 nautical miles;
c) in the outport pilotage area at the Taman shipping way, including pilotage area for vessels moving to the Tamanskiy RTA, bordered by a pilot's reception point at the fairway №52 bend 13º-193º, 1 mile away from buoys №№19,20 (45º17'12"N 36º28'45"E) of the KEC and the south-western part of the moorage №455 area (45º22'00"N 36º41'00"E). The distance - 10.6 nautical miles.


Embarkation/debarkation of vessel's moving to/from the sea port of Kavkaz from the Black Sea side pilot, is executed at the fairway №52 bend 13º-193º, 1 mile away from buoys №№19,20 (45º17'12"N 36º28'45"E) of the (KEC). If the vessel moving from the Azov Sea side - in the south-western part of the moorage №455 area (45º22'00"N 36º41'00"E). Pilot's debarkation/embarkation is executed at the sea port’s berths.
In case of pilotage services provision for remoorage or other vessel's transportation operation, a pilot is embarkated/debarkated at the sea port’s berths.
Embarkation/debarkation of vessel's moving to the Tamanskiy shipping way from the Black Sea side pilot, is executed at the fairway №52 bend 13º-193º, 1 mile away from buoys №№19,20 (45º17'12"N 36º28'45"E) of the (KEC). If the vessel moving from the Azov Sea side - in the south-western part of the moorage №455 area (45º22'00"N 36º41'00"E). Pilot's debarkation/embarkation is executed at the sea port’s berths.
During the winter navigation the pilotage for vessels calling at/leaving the seaport of Kavkaz and Tamanskiy RTA is implemented with the assistance of an icebreaker. The sea port of Kavkaz captain may set some limitation for a convoy participation.
Sea port of Taman
In accordance with the Temporary Recomendations on the sea port of Taman, approved the the sea port of Taman administration in 2009, pilotage is obligatory in the sea port of Taman (borders are set by the Government of Russian Federation Decree dated 08.12.2008 № 1837–р) for all vessels.

Only inport pilotage is executed in the sea port of Taman. The inport pilotage area is bordered by the point №1 (45°01'18"N 36º36'42"Е) on the recommended route (RR) №29, from RR №29 0º-180º to the point №2 (45°06'12.00"N 36º35'56.00"Е), then - through the transit 62, 0º-242º to berths №1-4 of the sea port of Taman.

Pilots' embarkation/debarkation is executed at the point 45°01'18"N 36º36'42"Е, and debarkation/embarkation is executed at the sea port’s berths.
During the winter navigation the pilotage for vessels calling at/leaving the seaport of Taman is implemented with the assistance of an icebreaker. The sea port of Taman captain may set some limitation for a convoy participation.
Sea port of Temryuk

The sea port of Temryuk areas of inport and outport pilotage are two be paid on different purposes:
- inport pilotage within the sea port of Temryuk interior water area bordered by the Temryukskiy Osevoy luminous buoy (45º21'18"N 37º20'29"E), from North-West - by straight lines connecting points №1 (45º20'13.12"N 37º21'42.04"E), №2 (45°20'15.27''N 37°21'39.38''Е) and №3 (45°20'21.94''N 37°21'40.84''Е), and the Glukhoy Channel, Chirchik, Chaikin and Gazovikov backwaters coast line, connecting following points:

- outport pilotage is executed in the area bordered by the Varzovskiy reception buoy (45°27'24"N 36°41'42"Е, Kerch Strait) and the Temryukskiy Floating luminous buoy. The distance - 40 nautical miles;


Embarkation and debarkation for vessels calling at/leaving the seaport of Temryuk is executed:
- in the Temryukskiy Osevoy luminous buoy area (45º21'18"N 37º20'29"E);
- in the Varzovskiy buoy area (45°27'24"N 36°41'42"Е, Kerch Strait),
and debarkation/embarkation is executed in berths of the sea port of Temryuk.
In case of pilotage services provision for remoorage or other vessel's transportation operation, a pilot is embarkated/debarkated at the sea port’s berths.
During the winter navigation the pilotage for vessels calling at/leaving the seaport of Temryuk is implemented with the assistance of an icebreaker. The sea port of Temryuk captain may set some limitation for a convoy participation.
In accordance with the Mintrans of Russia order dated 11.01.2011 №7, the pilotage is obligatory in the sea port of Tuapse in the area bordered by the coast line and straight lines connecting following points:
N 1 44°05'13,5"N 039°04'12,7"E;
N 2 44°02'35,0"N 039°04'12,0"E;
N 3 44°03'12,0"N 039°03'24,0"E;
N 4 44°05'11,0"N 039°04'03,0"E.

The sea port of Tuapse areas of inport and outport pilotage are to be paid on different purposes:
- inport pilotage is executed in the area bordered by the coast line and the straight line connecting following points:
N 1 44°05'13,5"N 039°04'12,7"E;
N 2 44°05'11,0"N 039°04'03,0"E.
- outport pilotage is executed in the area bordered by straight lines connecting following points:
N1 44°05'13,5"N 039°04'12,7"E;
N2 44°02'35,0"N 039°04'12,0"E;
N3 44°03'12,0"N 039°03'24,0"E;
N4 44°05'11,0"N 039°04'03,0"E.
The distance of the outport pilotage concludes 2 nautical miles.

Pilots' embarkation/debarkation is executed at the point 44°03'42"N 039°03'54"E or by true bearing 184º (15 cables away from the glowing red sign of the South-Western waterbreaker).
In case of pilotage services provision for remoorage or other vessel's transportation operation, a pilot is embarkated/debarkated at the sea port’s berths.
3. Pilotage Services Provision Order
Pilotage services provision order in the sea port of Anapa
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch provides round-o-clock pilotage services in the sea port of Anapa, in accordance with the Compulsory resolutions requirements, on the basis of the shipowners`/marine agents` requests.
The following vessels are exempted from the obligatory pilotage:
- vessels and ships of Russian Navy, Coastal security of the Federal Security Service Border Guard, Federal Customs Service and EMERCOM of Russia;
- sport and pleasure boats, regardless of main engines capacity and tonnage;
- captains and shift assistants of small-size vessels, port and technical fleet vessels, local vessels who has sufficient work experience in command duty and passed qualification examination of the captain of the sea port of Novorossiysk and have acquired the appropriate personal exemption from the pilotage.
Outside the obligatory pilotage area in the sea port of Anapa pilotage is provided by the Branch on the contract basis.
The inport pilotage request connected with shifting operations and pilotage for vessels calling at the seaport of Anapa is filed to the sea port’s captain by fax +7 (86133) 459-64 no later than 2 hours before the supposed operation.
The applied request being registered and examined by the seaport’s captain, it is transferred by the State Port Control inspector of the sea port of Anapa to the sea port of Novorossiysk captain and then - to the Branch's Pilotage Service to implement stated pilotage operations.
Vessels connection with coastal devices is executed by phone (+7 (8617) 67-64-47) or on the VHF channel 9 (call sign “Lotsmanskaya Stantsiya”).
A pilot arriving to the vessel produces a receipt confirming his right to implement the pilotage of a vessel, where the fact of the pilotage and possible commentaries to his work are put, to the captain. A vessel’s captain hands to the pilot an IMO established type pilot card with precise information about the vessel and informs the pilot on controllability features and the vessel’s condition. Receipts, filled in and signed by the vessel’s captain, are the ground for the pilotage fare calculation.
When heavy navigational and/or hydro-meteorological conditions, the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch pilot, with captain’s approbation, implements leading pilotage as far as the place of possible safe embarkation.
The pilotage of vessels with defective propeller-rudder system, main engines or ground tackle is implemented by the seaport of Anapa captain’s authority, with a towage service provision.
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch pilotage service is not responsible for possible delays and demurrage in the following cases:
- if the pilotage request was filed out-of-date;
- embarkation is impossible due to the storm weather;
- a pilot boat is absent due to the heavy weather conditions;
- a leading pilotage, according to the pilot and the captain, is impossible in current conditions.
The request revocation must be executed not later than 1 hour before the operation.
If the departure is delayed or vessel is shifted more than 30 minutes after stated time due to non force majeure consequences or when captain and senior assistant are absent, the pilot can be recalled from the vessel. The vessel’s captain or an acting person is obliged to sign a false call receipt to pay the pilot dues according to the current tariffs for the operation planned and file a new request in the established order.
The vessel’s captain who refused the services on pilot’s arrival also must fill in and sign the pilot receipt for a pilotage cost recovery in the established order.
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch pilotage services are charged by pilotage dues. Information on pilotage dues is published in the certain subsection of this web site.
Pilotage services provision order in the sea port of Gelendzhik
In accordance with Compulsory regulations, the pilotage in the seaport of Gelendzhik water area is obligatory for all Russian and foreign vessels with a gross tonnage of 200 GT and more.
The following vessels are exempted from the obligatory pilotage:
- vessels and ships of Russian Navy, Coastal Security of the Federal Security Service Border Guard, Federal Customs Service and EMERCOM of Russia by the command authority presentation;
- small-size vessels, port and technical fleet vessels, local vessels with captains and shift assistants who has sufficient work experience in command duty and have passed qualification examination of the captain of the seaport of Novorossiysk and have acquired the appropriate personal exemption from the pilotage, and the captains of vessels who constantly work within the established obligatory pilotage area.
Outside the obligatory pilotage area in the sea port of Anapa pilotage is provided by the Branch on the contract basis.
The inport pilotage request connected with shifting operations and pilotage for vessels calling at the seaport of Gelendzhik is filed to the seaport’s captain by fax +7 (86141) 30-16-05 not later than 2 hours before the supposed operation
The applied request being registered and examined by the seaport’s captain, it is transferred by the State Port Control inspector of the sea port of Gelendzhik to the sea port of Novorossiysk captain and then - to the Branch's Pilotage Service to implement stated pilotage operations.

A pilotage request for vessels calling at the sea port of Novorossiysk from the sea is filed in writing to the seaport’s captain by fax (+7 (8617) 60-25-07) or by e-mail (ign@mapn.morflot.ru) 24 hours before the approach to the embarkation point and is approved by VHF channel 9 (call sign “Novorossiysk-5”). The request is approved 2 hours before the set time by the VHF channel 9 (call sign “Lotsmanskaya Stantsiya”).
The inport pilotage request connected with shifting operations and pilotage for vessels leaving the seaport is applied to the seaport’s captain by fax (+7 (8617) 60-25-07) or by e-mail (ign@mapn.morflot.ru) no later than 2 hours before the supposed operation.
The applied request being registered and examined, it is transferred by the sea port’s captain to the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Pilotage service to implement stated pilotage operations
A pilot arriving to the vessel produces a receipt confirming his right to implement the pilotage of the vessel, where the fact of the pilotage and possible commentaries to his work are put, to the captain. The vessel’s captain hands to the pilot an IMO established type pilot card with precise information about the vessel and informs the pilot on controllability features and the vessel’s condition.
The receipts, filled in and signed by the vessel’s captain, are the grounds for the pilotage fare calculation.
In case of moorage on the roadstead of the sea port of Novorossiysk without berth mooring, the vessel’s captain must fill in the pilot arrival/departure receipt with a clause “without berth mooring”.
During vessel’s arrival at berths of dockyard for repair, the pilot relegates the vessel to the dockyard captain in a meeting point coordinated with the State Port Control Inspection. During departure from the berths, the dockyard captain relegates the vessel to the pilot after full completion of a maneuver only. In both cases pilot and dockyard captain report by the VHF channel 9 (call sign “Operator SUDS: Novotraffic Control”) to the VTS operator on the relegation of the control over the vessel.
The Novorossiysk branch Pilotage service is not responsible for possible delays and demurrage in the following cases:
- if the pilotage request was filed out-of-date;
- embarkation is impossible due to the storm weather;
- a pilot boat is absent due to the heavy weather conditions;
- a leading pilotage, according to the pilot and the captain, is impossible in current conditions;
- tugs and/or mooring crew arrived out-of-date (pilot can only assist in their call).
The request revocation must be executed no later than 1,5 hours before the operation.
If the departure is delayed or vessel is shifted 30 minutes later of stated time due to non force majeure consequences or when captain and senior assistant are absent, the pilot can be recalled from the vessel. The vessel’s captain or an acting person is obliged to sign a false call receipt to pay the pilot dues according to the current tariffs for the operation planned and file a new request in the established order.
The vessel’s captain who refused from the services on pilot’s arrival also must fill in and sign the pilot receipt for a pilotage cost recovery in the established order.

The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch provides round-o-clock pilotage services in the sea port of Eysk, in accordance with the Compulsory resolutions requirements approved by the sea port of Eysk administration on 29.12.2010.
Pilotage in the sea port of Eysk water area is obligatory for all types of Russian and foreign vessels.
The following vessels are exempted from the obligatory pilotage:
- vessels and ships of Russian Navy, Coastal Security of the Federal Security Service Border Guard, Federal Customs Service and EMERCOM of Russia by the command authority presentation;
- ice breakers, port and technical fleet vessels, fish boats of 200- tons gross capacity, which captains have an obliogatory pilotage exemption certificate of the Eysk sea port;
- small-size and sport sailing vessels.
Outside the obligatory pilotage area in the sea port of Anapa pilotage is provided by the Eysk Subdivision on the contract basis.
The pilotage request for vessels calling at the sea port of Eysk from the sea side is filed to the Eysk Subdivision dispatcher service by fax 7 (86132) 214-88 or +7 (86132) 261-63 or by e-mail (rosmorport@esk.rosmorport.ru) before 14:00 of any day.
The inport pilotage request connected with shifting operations and pilotage for vessels calling at the seaport of Eysk is filed to the seaport’s captain by fax (86132) 214-88 or +7 (86132) 261-63 or by e-mail (rosmorport@esk.rosmorport.ru) not later than 2 hours before the supposed operation.
The pilotage request for vessels calling at/departing from the sea port of Eysk from/to the Azov sea side is filed to the Eysk Subdivision dispatcher service by fax 7 (86132) 214-88 or +7 (86132) 261-63 or by e-mail (rosmorport@esk.rosmorport.ru):
- for a vessel arriving to the sea port of Eysk, not later than 72 hours before a pilot reception with the confirmation 48 hours, 24 hours and 6 hours before a pilot reception;
- for a vessel departing from the sea port of Eysk, 12 hours before a departure with the confirmation 2 hour before a departure.
Vessels connection with coastal devices is executed by phone (+7 (86132) 2-59-40) or on the VHF channel 16 (call sign “Lotsman-Eysk”) round-o-clock.
A pilot arriving to the vessel produces a receipt confirming his right to implement the pilotage of a vessel, where the fact of the pilotage and possible commentaries to his work are put, to the captain. A vessel’s captain hands to the pilot an IMO established type pilot card with precise information about the vessel and informs the pilot on controllability features and the vessel’s condition. Receipts, filled in and signed by the vessel’s captain, are the ground for the pilotage fare calculation.
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Eysk Subdivision Pilotage Service is not responsible for possible delays and demurrage in the following cases:
- if the pilotage request was filed out-of-date;
- embarkation is impossible due to the storm weather;
- a pilot boat is absent due to the heavy weather conditions;
- a leading pilotage, according to the pilot and the captain, is impossible in current conditions.
The request revocation must be executed not later than 1,5 hour before the operation.
If the departure is delayed or vessel is shifted more than 30 minutes after stated time due to non force majeure consequences or when captain and senior assistant are absent, the pilot can be recalled from the vessel. The vessel’s captain or an acting person is obliged to sign a false call receipt to pay the pilot dues according to the current tariffs for the operation planned and file a new request in the established order.
The vessel’s captain who refused the services on pilot’s arrival also must fill in and sign the pilot receipt for a pilotage cost recovery in the established order.

Pilotage services provision order in the sea port of Kavkaz
Pilotage service in the sea port of Kavkaz, on the Tamanskiy shipping way and at the Tamanskiy RTA is provided by the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Taman Subdivision Pilotage Service round-o-clock in accordance with the requirments of the Obligatory Regulations on the sea port of Kavkaz, approved by the Taman sea port administration in 2007.
The following vessels are exempted from the obligatory pilotage:
- vessels and ships of Russian Navy, Coastal security of the Federal Security Service Border Guard, Federal Customs Service and EMERCOM of Russia;
- small-size vessels;
- vessels which have sufficient experience in pilotage in the current obligatory pilotage area, which captains passed qualification examination of the captain of the sea port of Kavkaz and have acquired the appropriate personal pilot exemption certificate (PEC), or passed the special training programs;
- ferries, operating on regular lines to the sea port of Kavkaz, which captains have PEC, issued by the sea port of Kavkaz captain;
- fishing boats of 50- metres length.
Outside the obligatory pilotage area in the sea port of Novorossiysk pilotage is provided by the Branch on the contract basis.
The Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Taman Subdivision provides round-o-clock pilotage services in the sea port of Kavkaz, in accordance with the daily schedule, approved by the sea port captain, on the basis of a shipowners`/marine agents` requests.
A pilotage request is filed by a shipowner/marine agent to the State Port Control inspector of the sea port by fax (+7 (86148) 581-46) or by e-mail (maptemryuk@morflot.ru, maptemryuk@mail.kuban.ru) and also to a shift traffic controller of the Taman Subdivision by fax (+7 (86148) 581-46). For a vessel:
- calling at the sea port of Kavkaz - not later than 72 hours before a pilot reception with the confirmation 48 hours and 24 hours before a pilot reception;
- departing from the sea port of Kavkaz - 6 hours before a departure with the confirmation 2 hours before a departure, if it is planned from 8.00 to 20.00 of a current day, or before 13.00 if it is planned from 20.00 to 8.00 of the next day;
- calling at the sea port of Kavkaz for remoorage and other vessel's transposition operations in the sea port of Kavkaz - not later than 2 hours before an operation, if it is planned from 8.00 to 17.00 of a current day, or before 15.00 if it is planned from 17.00 to 8.00 of the next day;
- moving throuth the Kerch Strait en route or to the Tamanskiy RTA - 72 hours before a pilot reception with the confirmation 48 hours and 24 hours before a pilot reception.

The following vessels are exempted from the obligatory pilotage:
- vessels and ships of Russian Navy, Coastal security of the Federal Security Service Border Guard, Federal Customs Service and EMERCOM of Russia;
- small-size vessels, port and technical fleet vessels, local vessels with captains and shift assistants who has sufficient work experience in command duty and have passed qualification examination of the captain of the sea port of Taman and have acquired the appropriate personal exemption from the pilotage, and the captains of vessels who constantly work within the established obligatory pilotage area;
- vessels which have sufficient experience in pilotage in the current obligatory pilotage area, which captains passed qualification examination of the captain of the sea port of Taman and have acquired the appropriate personal pilot exemption certificate (PEC), or passed the special training programs. In case of 6-months interval without navigating in the sea port of Taman water area, a vessel's captain' and/or his assistants' knowledge of navigating rules must be examined.
Outside the obligatory pilotage area in the sea port of Taman pilotage is provided by the Branch on the contract basis.
