Reconstructed advance sections of the Northern and Southern protective breakwaters put into operation in the seaport of Kavkaz

Under Rosmorrechflot License No 23-RU23300101-NZh-39/65-2017 of December 26, 2017, reconstructed advance sections of the Northern and Southern protective breakwaters have been put into operation in the seaport of Kavkaz.

The advance sections have been reconstructed within the FSUE “Rosmorport” capital asset budget for the period from December 2015 to October 2016.

During the reconstruction, the operation capability of the protective breakwaters has been restored to protect the water area of the seaport of Kavkaz from waves and drifts. Their capability to maintain navigational depths on entering the port has also been restored.

In order to increase the life cycle of the advance sections’ sheet pile wall the electrochemical protection has been provided by installing protectors on the sheet pile wall of the breakwater’s head. All equipment for the electrochemical protection consists of Russian-made installation materials that have high performance and technical parameters, reliability and the certificate of conformity to existing Russian standards.

Navigations marks of the Kolonna type of five meters high have been installed on advance sections. They are designed for ensuring navigation safety on the approaches toward the seaport of Kavkaz and its water area.

The advance sections of the Northern and Southern protective breakwaters have been reconstructed at the expense of FSUE “Rosmorport”. FSUE “Rosmorport” has spent 206 million Rubles in total to reconstruct the protective breakwaters’ advance sections.
