Release of Juvenile Sterlet into the Kuban river

In order to compensate damage to aquatic bioresources and their habitats during repair dredging works the seaport of Yeisk in 2016-2017 years, a release of juvenile starlet fingerlings into the Kuban river was held on June 30, 2016 in the presence of members of the State Commission and representatives of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Yeisk Department.

Representatives of the hatchery, which by order of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Yeisk Department bred juvenile sterlet of average weighing 2.5 to 3 grams, released into the Kuban river nearly 17 thousand fish juveniles. Expenses of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Yeisk Department on preeding and release of juvenile starlet amounted to over 254 thousand rubles.

This year it will be the final release of juvenile sterlet into the Kuban River within the implementation of compensatory measures related to damage to aquatic bioresources caused during repair dredging works in the seaport of Yeisk during the period of 2013 to 2017.

In total from 2015 the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Yeisk Department has bred and released over 33 thousand  fish juveniles under agreements with specialized hatcheries, and total expenses of Yeisk Department on compensation for damage to aquatic bioresources during repair dredging works in the seaport of Yeysk amounted to more than 508 thousand rub.
