Kapitan Krutov Icebreaker Takes Part in a Rescue Operation

On 26 January 2015 an icebreaker of Eysk Department of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Kapitan Krutov took part in a rescue operation for provision of emergency medical aid for a crew member of Omsky-6 dry cargo carrier.

Controller's office of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch Eysk Department received a message about a crew member who required medical help from the master of the Eysk seaport.

Operator promptly called in an ambulance, and after the ambulance team had came on the icebreaker‘s board, Kapitan Krutov immediately set off for Omsky-6 motorboat.

After the icebreaker reached the Dolgaya spit, where the dry cargo carrier was staying, the patient was taken on board of the icebreaker and the ambulance team gave him first medical aid.As Kapitan Krutov icebreaker is capable of developing speed very fast it delivered the patient to the Eysk seaport in less than three hours after the rescue operation had started. Then the patient was taken to the city hospital in an ambulance car for further medical treatment.
