The Tamanets МРВ14 multi-purpose boat was delivered by motor transport to Kavkaz seaport from the Moscow Shipyard, where it was constructed. On August 16, 2012 the boat was set afloat int he seaport water area and representatives of the shipyard started sea trials in order to check that the boat is ready for operation. 

The boat, which was transferred to the ownership of the Taman Department of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch will be used by the branch for: 
- transportation of pilots to/from vessels, pilotage assistanse for vessels heading towards the seaports of Kavkaz, Taman, and Temryuk;
- transportation of crews, state committee members and crew members to vessels on the roads;
- quick and efficient inspection of water ways of the Kerch Straits and approaches to the seaports;
- transportation of cargo up to 0.5 tons of weight;
- emergency operations.
