Meeting concerning issues on Novorossiysk-Sochi-Novorossiysk ferry line functioning

On July the 4th 2011 FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky basin branch hosted a meeting concerning issues on Novorossiysk-Sochi-Novorossiysk ferry line functioning.

The event was led by Victor Olersky, deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation. Also, acting FSUE “Rosmorport” General director Andrey Lavrischev and representatives of Azovo-Chernomorsky basin branch, Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, local authorities and regional marine transport complex enterprises took part in the meeting.

Victor Olersky informed the participants that due to traffic security, Dzhugba-Sochi Federal highway structural components preservation and cargo delivery by vehicle that doesn’t meet normative requirements to heavy lift transfer a ferry connection between the seaport of Novorossiysk and the seaport of Sochi (the seaport’s cargo area in the Mzymta river estuary) is set from the 1st of June 2011.

As of 1st of July the ferry line works consistently. Reference price for standard cargo vehicle (gross weight – 38 tons, length – 16,00 meters; width – 2,55 meters; height – 4,25 meters.) is 30 000 rubles, VAT inclusive in both ends, with terminal processing in ports of loading and unloading and driver transportation by coach. Also, the participants examined ferry line problems occurred and took decisions for their elimination.
