Krasin icebreaker returns to the seaport of Murmansk

Icebreakers of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch have completed navigation in the waters of the Northern Sea Route for the 2022-2023 season.

The Krasin vessel was the last of the three icebreakers of the Murmansk Branch to return to the seaport of Murmansk. From April 1 to May 21, 2023, the icebreaker provided icebreaking assistance for vessels in the western part of the Northern Sea Route in the water area of the Kara Sea, including the Yenisei Bay.

During its operation, the icebreaker provided pilotage of 18 vessels in the ice, having covered more than 9.5 thousand nautical miles.

Earlier, the Kapitan Dranitsyn and Admiral Makarov icebreakers of the Murmansk Branch returned to the seaport of Murmansk.

After undergoing routine repairs, the icebreakers will be fully ready to provide assistance for vessels in the autumn-winter navigation of 2023-2024.
