Admiral Makarov icebreaker returns to the seaport of Murmansk

The Admiral Makarov icebreaker became the second of three icebreakers of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch to complete navigation in the waters of the Northern Sea Route.

From January 10 to May 19, 2023, the icebreaker provided icebreaking assistance for vessels in the western part of the Northern Sea Route in the water area of the Kara Sea, including the Yenisei Bay.

During its operation, the icebreaker provided assistance in the ice for 59 vessels, having covered more than 23.7 thousand nautical miles.

After undergoing routine repairs, the icebreaker will be fully ready for new work in the winter navigation of 2023-2024.

Earlier, the Kapitan Dranitsyn icebreaker returned to the seaport of Murmansk. It provided icebreaking assistance for vessels in the waters of the Northern Sea Route from December 1, 2022 to April 11, 2023.
