Icebreaker Kapitan Dranitsyn completed work in the waters of the Northern Sea Route

On July 6, the icebreaker Kapitan Dranitsyn returned from the waters of the Northern Sea Route to the seaport of Murmansk. From December 2021 to June 2022, the icebreaker provided icebreaker assistance for vessels on the routes of the Northern Sea Route in the Kara and Chuckchee Sea.

Thus, all three icebreakers of the Murmansk branch of the FSUE "Rosmorport" completed the autumn-winter navigation season of 2021-2022.

During their work, the icebreakers of the Murmansk branch provided icebreaker assistance for 95 vessels, having traveled almost 48.3 thousand nautical miles.

The icebreaker Kapitan Dranitsyn provided icebreaker assistance to 62 vessels during the autumn-winter navigation. For example, in mid-December 2021, the icebreaker Kapitan Dranitsyn together with the nuclear-powered icebreaker Arktika performed a long-distance icebreaking of three cargo vessels from the western ice edge of the Kara Sea to the seaport of Pevek in difficult ice conditions.

After undergoing routine repairs, the icebreakers will be fully ready for new work in the autumn-winter navigation of 2022-2023.
