Pilots of the Murmansk Branch provided piloting and docking of two gas tankers for the first LNG transshipment in Russia in the Kildin Strait

From November 21 to 25, 2020, the pilots of the FSUE "Rosmorport"  Murmansk Branch successfully provided piloting and docking of two gas tankers – the Nikolay Yevgenov and the Yamal Spirit (Bahamas flag) in a temporary raid transshipment complex (VPRK) in order to carry out the first liquefied natural gas transshipment operation on the territory of the Russian Federation in the Kildin Strait of the Barents Sea in accordance with the ship-to-ship scheme.

The complex where the transshipment took place was created in order to ensure year-round LNG transshipment from reinforced ice-class tankers arriving from the Russian Arctic.

Previously, on August 3, at this VRPK an experimental operation of docking Christophe de Margery gas tanker took place, which safety was ensured by pilots of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Murmansk Branch.
