In the context of bilateral cooperation a delegation of the Vardo (Norway) VTS Center Department visited the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch on December 13, 2018.

The meeting focused on technical aspects of the operation of the obligatory message ship system in the Barents Sea.

The Norwegian guests could visit the Murmansk Branch and the Kola Bay VTS center to study the work of Russian VTS operators and technical capabilities of equipment.

Norwegian colleagues paid special attention to engineering and technical systems in order to ensure transportation security. The foreign specialists highly assessed the potential of technical capabilities of equipment, which helped control transportation security in the water area of the seaport of Murmansk and at the larger distances by using satellite communication channels.

Further to the meeting both parties confirmed their intentions to strengthen mutual cooperation, including joint interaction to develop navigation safety systems in the Barents Sea.
