In view of the results of the survey by the Certification Association “The Russian Register” the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch pilot service has certified the conformity of its quality management system in respect of rendering pilotage and magnetic deviation removal services to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

According to the established procedure the Murmansk Branch has been issued Certificate No. 19.0019.026 of January 14, 2019. The certificate is valid till January 14, 2022.

The Murmansk Branch pilot service was created in 2004. In the first year of its work pilots of the Murmansk Branch made over 4.000 pilotages of vessels in the seaport of Murmansk. Based on the results of last year the service made over 15.800 pilotages in the seaports of Murmansk and Kandalaksha.

Pilots of the Murmansk Branch started to render deviation removal services in 2016. On the results of last year, the deviation removal operations were carried out on 12 vessels in respective water areas of Kola Bay where the deviation ranges are located.

At present, the pilot service of the Murmansk Branch comprises 48 pilots. 38 pilots are pilots of Category I and 10 pilots are pilots of Category II.

Specialists of the Murmansk Branch pilot service have high qualification and big experience. They are capable of making pilotage operations of any complexity under different weather conditions and on vessels of all types (dry cargoes, bulk carriers, tanker ships, nuclear icebreakers, specialized facilities and platforms) without restrictions by dimensions and displacement.

Professional qualification of pilots of the Murmansk Branch meets the requirements of the Regulations on Russian Sea Pilots. Proficiency enhancement and simulator-based training are made on the base of simulator centers of Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy, the Murmansk State Technical University and the Mesyatsev Murmansk Marine Firshery College.
