A solemn ceremony was held in the seaport of Murmansk on April 3, 2019 to open the first stage of dust wind protection facilities. The ceremony involved acting Governor of the Murmansk region Andrei Chibis, chairman of the Murmansk Region Duma Sergei Dubovoy and head of Murmansk administration Andrei Sysoyev. FSUE “Rosmorport” was represented by director of the Murmansk Branch Sergei Mazhirin.

These facilities represent 20-meters screens installed due to the wind rose in Murmansk. They protect the area of the second cargo district of the seaport of Murmansk and are designed for protecting the city from the dust while treating carbon and other dusty materials.

As part of the first stage of the construction the screens have been installed at the length of 568 meters on berth No. 14 in the seaport of Murmansk.

Till the end of the year 2020 as part of the second and third stages the screens will be installed at the length of two kilometers by creating a continuing wall on the perimeter of cargo sites of berths No. 1-14 in the seaport.
