Boundaries of the seaport of Murmansk changed

Under Russian Government Resolution No. 2138-r of September 20, 2019, the amendments have been made to the boundaries of the seaport of Murmansk.

The corrections are related to changing the boundaries of the water area of the seaport of Murmansk in order to include three water areas of the eastern part of the Kildin Straits into the boundaries of the seaport. A roadstead transshipping complex designed for liquefied natural gas transshipment under the board to board scheme has been organized there.

The temporary roadstead transshipping complex represents three mooring berths. Gas carriers of Yamalmax types of 300 meters in length, 50 meters in breadth and 13 meters in load draught can be moored on two berths. Each berth comprises eight mooring buoys fastened by reinforced-concrete prismatic anchors at the bottom. An auxiliary vessel will be installed on the third berth. It will be of no more than 100 meters in length and designed for deploying the personnel of the roadstead transshipping complex and supervisory agencies.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch will perform pilotage of vessels calling at the seaport of Murmansk and moving to the roadstead transshipping complex for loading-unloading operations.
