The Braemar cruise liner (the flag of the Bahamas Islands) has moored at a distant lines pier of the seaport of Murmansk on June 21, 2018 becoming the largest liner to have ever moored at the pier. The liner is 195.92 m in length, 22.5 m in breadth and 5.8 m in draft.

Earlier, the passport of the distant lines pier reconstructed in 2015 provided for mooring of vessels of 180 m maximum length. Thereof, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch assessed all possibilities and determined acceptable conditions for safe berthing and mooring at this hydraulic structure. Following the results of calculations made by the authorized organization new dimensions of vessels and pursuant to existing law have been included in the supplemented part of the passport of the hydraulic structure “Distant Lines Pier”. The new maximum dimensions of the vessel are the following: 195.92 m in length, 22.5 m in breadth and no more than 7.0 m in draft.

A total of 757 passengers and 394 crewmembers arrived aboard the Braemar liner. The vessel has stayed in the seaport of Murmansk till June 21 and then left for the seaport of Harstad (Norway).

During the stopover in the seaport of Murmansk, tourists could go sightseeing in the transpolar city, see the specific features of the severe northern nature and taste ethnic cuisine. Most of tourists traveling aboard the Braemar cruise liner arrived in Murmansk from Great Britain, including passengers of over 90 years old.
