The Admiral Makarov icebreaker returns to the seaport of Murmansk
The Admiral Makarov icebreaker returned to the seaport of Murmansk on March 28, 2018.
For over a month the Admiral Makarov has been on a cruise to ensure navigation safety of vessels in the ice channel of Yenisei River and the Yenisei Bay.
In the course of its work the icebreaker has broken new sections of the working channel westward of Korsakov Islands – the Ovtsyn Strait in the ice ledge with the ice thickness of 90-120 cm to ensure the scheduled speed of vessels.
In the course of its work the Admiral Makarov linear diesel electric icebreaker ensured safe passage of five vessels of PJSC “Norilsk Nickel” that had delivered cargoes to the seaport of Dudinka.
The Admiral Makarov icebreaker has undergone planned repairs in the seaport of Murmansk. The repairs are scheduled to be over in the summer 2018.
