Admiral Makarov icebreaker sets sail

The Admiral Makarov icebreaker set sail from the seaport of Murmansk on February 25, 2018.

The icebreaker stood toward the embouchure of the Yenisei River to perform works on the renovation of the canal on ice and provide pilotage of vessels in order to deliver cargoes to the seaport of Dudinka.

The Admiral Makarov will return to the seaport of Murmansk in early April for scheduled repair.

In order to optimize the use of the icebreaker fleet the Admiral Makarov icebreaker was given to the Murmansk Branch in December 2017 to render icebreaker services and carry out commercial works in the Western Sector of the Artic Region. Earlier, the icebreaker was used by the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch.
