Exercise on the provision of transport safety in the Murmansk Seaport waters was conducted in the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch. In the course of the exercise, the equipment and workers of the Vessel Traffic Service and Murmansk Branch Waters Technical Surveying Department were involved.

According to legend of the exercise, unidentified fast sailing ship followed to the exit from the Kola Bay without notifying the Vessel Traffic Service thereby breaking the navigation rules in the Murmansk Seaport. Murmansk Branch employees professionally solved the assigned tasks: detected a violation, identified a violator and notified operative services in accordance with the prescribed procedure.

The representatives of the Border Guard, Law Enforcement and Emergency Response services and government agencies were invited to study the course of the exercise.

Based on the exercise results and in terms of the discussion held their participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues that address the enhancement of the interaction of the services and government agencies to provide transport safety in the Murmansk Seaport waters and its approaches.
