First Cruise Ship Moors at the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch Distant Lines Pier

On June 13, 2016 the first cruise ship “Silver Explorer” moored at the distant lines pier of the seaport of Murmansk passenger area.

“Silver Explorer” is the first passenger vessel moored at the distant lines pier after its reconstruction in 2015. Until now, cruise ships calling at the seaport of Murmansk had moored at the fishing port berths.

Now, the distant lines pier is able to accommodate vessels up to 180 meters long. Further, after finishing the currently carried out scientific works on modeling of mooring at the distant lines pier of vessels of larger dimensions and dredging works, cruise ships up to 210 meters will be able to moor at the pier. This will enhance touristic attractiveness of the city of Murmansk and the region as a whole.
