Murmansk Branch Participates In The International Conference “Arctic Logistics”

Interim Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch Aleksandr Bengert participated in the 6th international conference “Arctic Logistics”, supported by the Government of the Murmansk region on April 12, 2016 in Murmansk, where he made a report.

During the conference there was discussed a wide range of issues on perspectives of development of the Northern Sea Route and the region port infrastructure in connection with plans for the development of the Arctic zone by Russia, Organization of transport and logistics operations on the Arctic shelf.

In his report Aleksandr Bengert presented to the conference participants the core activities of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch and also the results of the infrastructure projects completed in 2015, related to reconstruction of distant lines pier in the seaport of Murmansk and construction of the Kandalaksha Bay VTS.

Aleksandr Betgert informed the guests on the project on reconstruction of the marine station in the seaport of Murmansk currently implemented by the branch and also on the future plans on construction of an ecological base in the seaport.

Besides, the Murmansk Branch is currently considering the modeling of technical capabilities for mooring passenger cruise vessels at the distant lines pier in the seaport of Murmansk with larger dimensions than it is envisaged by the hydraulic structure passport. The successful solution of all the technical issues will contribute to increase in passenger traffic in the seaport of Murmansk, and also to increase in the number of tourists, visiting the sights of the Russian North.
