Replenishment of the Murmansk Branch Fleet

The FSUE “Rosmorport” Murmansk Branch Fleet has been replenished with  new Slavir-636 amphibious hovercraft, a dynamically supported vessel built by a Russian company OOO “Amfibiinaya tekhnika” in Nizhniy Novgorod. Slavir-636 can move at high speed both in the sea and heavy-going surfaces (ice, snow crust, shallow water).

This vessel will be used by the Murmansk Branch in order to provide year-round delivery of pilots of the Murmansk Branch to vessels calling at the seaport of Kandalaksha for provision of pilotage support.

The hovercraft was used by the Murmansk Branch for the first time on February 17, 2016 for delivery of pilots of a separate subdivision in the seaport of Kandalaksha of the Murmansk Branch Pilot Service on board of two cargo ships, heading to the seaport of Kandalaksha. These vessels arrived in the seaport of Kandalaksha transporting coal and general cargo and escorted by the Murmansk Branch Kapitan Dranitsyn icebreaker, which after replenishment of fuel supplies and reserves in the seaport of Murmansk, started to provide icebreaker support of vessels in the White Sea.
