Murmansk Branch Prepares to Celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War

In the framework of the events plan for preparation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War the Murmansk Branch have washed and cleaned a memorable board to the port workers who died in the Great Patriotic War.

The monument was opened in 1967 in commemoration of all dockworkers of the Murmansk Port who lost their lives while unloading ammunition and other important cargoes right under the enemy’s guns.

From 1941 till 1945 the Murmansk dockworkers handled more than 300 ships and unloaded more than 2 million tons of cargoes making an invaluable contribution into the victory.
