The Ministry of Labour and Social Development of Murmansk Region awarded commendation to the Murmansk Branch for participation in the regional competition for the best management of occupational safety and health activities.

The competition is held every year in order to increase commitment of the top managers of companies located in the Murmansk Region to creation of healthy and safe labour conditions, prevention of industrial injuries and professional diseases.

In 2014 twenty-four organizations participated in the competition. Although the Murmansk Branch didn’t take any prizes, the competition jury pointed out the high level of occupational safety and health management in the branch.

The Murmansk Branch strictly follows all occupational safety and health standards in its business activities. In particular, the branch has formed a set of bylaws regulating all activities in the field of occupational safety in compliance with Russian legislation. The branch employees working in harmful labour conditions are provided with all necessary personal protective equipment. The branch arranges training and assessment of the employees’ knowledge of occupational safety and health standards at a high professional level.
