Strengthening of the enterprize's icebreaking fleet at the White sea

In order to support the FSUE "Rosmorport" icebreaking fleet at the White sea, which provides stable icebreaking pilotage operations for vessels, calling at the sea port of Arkhangelsk and other sea ports of the Kandalaksha bay, on March, 1 2013 the Captain Dranitsyn icebreaker left the sea port of Murmansk to the White sea water area.

The Captain Dranitsyn icebreaker is more powerful than other Arkhangelsk branch's icebreakers, and it's participation in the icebreaking pilotage operations at the White sea is necessary for the maintenance of stable navigation during possible strengthening of ice conditions.

Icebreakers' operative management during it's work at the White sea till the end of the ice navigation 2012-2013 will be implemented by the FSUE "Rosmorport" Arkhangelsk branch.

Additional information 

The Kapitan Dranitsyn is a diesel icebreaker ranked KM(*) LL3[2] AUT2, with power of 24 000 h.p., a 45-milimeter carcass and tonnage of 12,288 tons. It was built on the Vartsila shipyard (Finland), certified according to international standards, and also as a passenger vessel, and is designed to work in harsh arctic conditions.
