In early February 2016 a joint meeting of the management of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Makhachkala Branch, the captain of Makhachkala seaport and representatives of high command of the Russian Navy Caspian flotilla was held in Makhachkala.

The main topic of the meeting were the issues of execution of repair dredging works in the water areas of Makhachkala seaport, in order to ensure safe navigation of vessels and ships of the Caspian flotilla that carry out port calls at the seaport.

The participants of the meeting discussed progress of the repair dredging works aimed at the achievement of desired dimensions in the access channels of Makhachkala seaport, and also reviewed the intermediate results of the implementation of works on creation of orthophotomaps and coordinate description of the coastline of Makhachkala seaport.

Following the meeting, the participants reaffirmed the need to reissue the appropriate nautical charts of the navigation area that includes the waters of Makhachkala seaport and its approaches, after the completion of repair dredging works scheduled for the end of this year.
