Works to place summer floating navigation aids in Azov Basin completed
The Azov Basin Branch completed the works to place 125 summer floating navigation aids in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog on March 7, 2019. These aids have been placed in addition to the existing 128 all-season aids to navigation.
In order to carry out these works the Azov Basin Branch used three mark boats.
Unlike cigar-shaped all-season buoys, the summer aids to navigation have a cone-type body that assures their best visibility during the daytime. These floating warning beacons are placed to make better orientation for a vessel or determine the coordinates of ships and vessels in the Sea of Azov, as well as to protect channels, fairways and prevent navigation dangers in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog.
All aids to navigation installed in the winter have undergone repair works by the Azov Basin Branch, including the repair of bodies, coating, painting, bridle chains and light-optical equipment repairs.
