Azov Basin Branch Major Activities

     According to Statute on the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azov Basin Branch, the major tasks of the Azov Basin Branch are the following: 
     • creation, maintenance, operation and development of federal property secured to the Azov Basin Branch; 
     • conducting works (rendering services) in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, and their approaches; 
     • implementation of federal special-purpose programs of sea transport development in Rostov Region. 

     In order to perform the permitted activities stipulated in Statute on the Azov Basin Branch, the branch: 
     • arranges efficient usage of federal property secured to the Azov Basin Branch; 
     • lets out for lease the property secured to the Azov Basin Branch, sees that it is safe, properly maintained, and used appropriately and efficiently, and also that the lessees meet terms and conditions of their leasing contracts; 
     • ensures safe operation of the hydraulic engineering structures, navigation safety systems and other port infrastructure objects secured to the Azov Basin Branch, including the Azovo-Donskoy sea canal; 
     • participates in development and agreement procedure of projects of integrated development of the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, in modernization and technical reorganization of transshipment complexes and special buildings and structures of coastal and port infrastructure; 
     • acts as an owner and developer for new construction, reconstruction, modernization, technical reorganization of transshipment complexes of the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, and other objects and structures of coastal and port infrastructure; 
     • arranges designer and technical supervision of construction, participates in state committees on the choice of construction sites and putting port objects into operation; 
     • carries out repair, modernization and new construction of hydraulic engineering structures and other port objects, including transshipment complexes and terminals; 
     • maintains in proper condition, provides functioning, conducts modernization and new construction of navigation safety systems, including the faciliites of areas A1, A2 of the Global Marine Distress and Safety System, located in the water areas and territories of the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, at anchoring berths, roads, fairways and approaching canals, including the Azovo-Donskoy sea canal water area; 
     • executes installation and technical maintenance of navigational equipment in the approaching canals and water areas of the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, including the Azovo-Donskoy sea canal water area; 
     • conducts measuring and dredging works in order to ensure navigation safety and maintain the announced depths of the water areas of the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, and also the Azovo-Donskoy sea canal water area; 
     • carries out repair, reconstruction and new construction of manufacturing and welfare buildings and structures; 
     • keeps, executes new construction, repair, and operates auxiliary vessels, dredgers, and ice breakers;
     • renders services on repair, maintenance and technical support of marine electrical radio navigation and communication equipment, global marine distress safety system equipment;  
     • participates in provision of transportation safety in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog;
     • participates in emergency rescue operations; 
     • participates in navigational and hydrographic provision of vessels, in particular: 
        - carries out, and/or renews common topographic mapping in scales of 1:500-1:10000; 
        - conducts hydrographic sweeping of channels and sea water areas; 
        - conducts sea bottom mapping; 
        - ensures attachment (coordination) during installation of different stationary and floating objects; 
        - builds and develops geodesic bridging networks, planimetric and altimetric survey networks, and also special geodesic networks; 
        - provides coordinates setting for geodesic points and land surface points with the help of geodesic satellite receivers, as well as autonomous means of coordinates setting; 
     • renders all types of services on navigation safety, maneuvering and mooring of vessels on the approaches and in the water areas of the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, in particular: 
        - provides VTS information, including information on actual weather conditions in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, in particular:
        - provides VTS information, including information on current weather conditions in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog;
        - conducts pilotage of vessels in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog; 
        - conducts mooring and shifting of vessels in the seaport of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog; 
        - provides icebreaking assistance in the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don, and Taganrog, and their approaches; 
        - renders crew boat services; 
        - provides collection of bilge waters and oil products from vessels, and their treatment in Taganrog seaport; 
     • enables vessels to pass under the railway bridge in Rostov-on-Don; 
     • provides communication services, including local telephone communication on the territory of Taganrog seaport and neighbouring territory, radio communication, Internet access; 
     • carries out security and firefighting activities in the buildings and objects of the branch; 
     • conducts informational and advertising activities; 
     • provides economic and information security of the branch; 
     • conducts activities on protection of state secrets during works related to usage of information containing state secrets, and also to activities, and/or services on protection of state secrets.
