Certificate of compliance of the Astrakhan coastal station of NAVTEX service received

According to the results of the examination of the Astrakhan coastal station of the NAVTEX service FSUE "Rosmorport" received the Rosmorrechflot certificate No. GMDSS-3/1-3264-2022 dated 20.06.2022 on compliance of the Astrakhan coastal station of the NAVTEX service with the applicable requirements approved by the Order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia No. 226 dated 23.07.2015, which provide the possibility of using the coastal station in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.

The Astrakhan coastal station of the NAVTEX service was established in 2000. It consisted of a control center located in the Astrakhan seaport and a transmitting radio station located in the area of the Olya village.

The initial examination of the facility took place in 2001, and then the coastal station successfully underwent re-examination four more times.

In the period from April 2013 to June 2014, due to equipment deterioration and design decisions, work was carried out on the construction of a new Astrakhan coastal station of the NAVTEX service with a control center in the Astrakhan seaport and a transmitting radio station located in the Ninovka village.

In 2018, the coastal station underwent modernization. A backup antenna with a switchboard was installed in order to ensure complete duplication, which made it possible to bring the equipment of the coastal station in full compliance with the new requirements approved by the Order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia No. 226 dated 23.07.2015.

The range of the Astrakhan coastal station of the NAVTEX service is 186 nautical miles.

The implementation of the project to create the Astrakhan coastal station of the NAVTEX service was carried out in order to fulfill the international obligations of Russia to protect human life at sea and ensure the safety of navigation. In the area of its operation, the automatic letter-printing telegraph system ensures the transmission to vessels of navigation, meteorological warnings, weather forecasts and other urgent information related to the safety of navigation in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya, as well as in the northern part of the Caspian Sea.
