Kronshlot dredger joins the fleet of the Astrakhan branch

In accordance with FSUE “Rosmorport” Order No. 20 of January 21, 2022, the Kronshlot self-unloading dredger was transferred to the economic management of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan branch.

The vessel of the TSHD 1000 project had earlier been operated by the North-Western Basin Branch of the enterprise.

The Kronshlot dredger has become the 10th vessel in the dredging fleet and the 36th vessel in the entire fleet of the Astrakhan branch.

The dredger is a three-deck vessel with engine rooms at the aft and bow of the ship and aft superstructure. The vessel has two engines with a total capacity of 1,492 kW and is propelled by two four-blade propellers of adjustable pitch with a diameter of 2.2 meters.

The vessel is equipped with a drag-and-drop suction device and pumps with a capacity of up to 1,000 cubic meters of excavated soil per hour which allow to excavate silt, sand and sandy loam at depths of up to 20 meters. The dredged soil is collected in the vessel's 1,000 cubic meter soil hold, and then, after being delivered by the vessel to the designated areas, is discharged. The vessel can be unloaded either by discharging through the bottom doors or by throwing the soil mixed with water to a distance of up to 60 meters or by refueling to the shore or to a barge through connection to the slurry pipeline.

The Kronshlot dredger can perform operations at water temperatures from -2°С to +20°С. Stabilization of the devices is maintained automatically on the ground, which ensures proper functioning of the vessel during rocking. The vessel has the ability to put out to sea and navigate with a wave height of up to 3 meters.

The vessel is also equipped with a 20-ton grapple crane with a bucket capacity of 3.8 cubic meters.

The branch is planning to carry out dredging operations in the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal with the help of the Kronplot dredger.

The Kronshlot self-discharging dredger was built in 2016 at the Krasnoye Sormovo Plant (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia). The vessel was named in honor of the Kronshlot Fort, the first fortification of St. Petersburg, built in 1704 to protect the city from attack from the sea.
