Services of the Astrakhan branch ensure the passage of a towing caravan with a living module along the Volga-Caspian sea navigation channel

On April 21, 2022, a towing caravan consisting of 2 tugs, 3 escort vessels and a transport and installation barge on which the TV6000 residential module is transported began moving from the Astrakhan seaport along the Volga-Caspian sea navigation channel to the oil field named after V. Greifer, located in the northern part of the Caspian Sea.

For the passage of the tug caravan, specialists of the FSUE "Rosmorport" Astrakhan branch implemented all necessary measures to ensure safe passage through the Volga-Caspian sea navigation channel. In particular, additional dredging at the 156-159 km section of the Volga-Caspian sea navigation channel along the route of the towing caravan was carried out.

The motor vessel MZ-102 of the navigation and hydrographic service of the Astrakhan branch escorts the tug caravan until it leaves the Volga-Caspian sea navigation channel for the Caspian Sea in order to ensure deployment and safety of navigational aids and prompt response to arising situations.

Five pilots of the pilot service in cooperation with operators of the Astrakhan VTS of the Astrakhan branch provide safe pilotage for the tug caravan.

The towing caravan is expected to enter the Caspian Sea on April 23, 2022.
