On April 5, 2021, the icebreaker Kapitan Metsayk of the Astrakhan Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” returned from the seaport of Azov to the seaport of Astrakhan.

The icebreaker Kapitan Metsayk with an engine power of 4.8 MW was being used by the Azov Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” with 5 of the branch's own icebreakers for provision icebreaker assistance services to vessels proceeding to the seaports of Azov, Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog during the winter navigation period of 2020-2021.

During the period of its work from 25.12.2020 to 18.03.2021, the icebreaker Kapitan Metsayk provided icebreaker assistance for 3,249 vessels.

The icebreaker is now preparing to undergo classification repairs, which are carried out every 5 years, in order to resume the class of the vessel in full.
