Fleet of Astrakhan branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" was replenished with Sapfir pilot boat

The fleet of Astrakhan branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” was replenished with the pilot boat Sapfir of RIF project 122/1. Sapfir became the 6th pilot ship and the 29th vessel in the entire branch fleet.

The Astrakhan branch plans to use the boat for rapid delivery of pilots from the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya to the pilot station located on 145 km of the Volga-Caspian marine shipping channel, as well as to the Astrakhan sea road. It will reduce the time of the pilot's arrival from the seaport of Astrakhan to vessels approaching the Astrakhan sea road for pilotage, from the existing 10 hours to 3.5 hours.

The vessel is a single-deck closed boat with a continuous (without ledges and knee pieces) upper deck, a single-level cabin for the crew and staff. The boat's hull is made with a longitudinal-transverse kit system and a V-shaped bottom.

The power plant is equipped with two engines working in pairs with water jet engines located in the aft part, allowing to reach speeds of up to 40 knots and move through shallow water with depths of up to 1 meter.

In the bow, the boat is equipped with a special rod-handrail and has an anti-slip coating that provides a safe transition of the pilot to the ship and back to the boat.
