The FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan Branch released 2.4 million young carp to the Volga River on October 1-22, 2018.

Young fish has been produced by a specialized fishery company by order of the Astrakhan Branch. The average weight of fish was equal to 15 grams.

Fish has been released within the environmental measures to compensate damage to water bioresources and the environment caused by dredging repair operations carried out on the Volga Caspian Marine Shipping Canal in 2015-2016.

The event was attended by representatives of supervisory state agencies.

This year this is the second release of young carp. Earlier, in July 2018, the branch released about 2.500 young sturgeons to the Volga River.

The Astrakhan Branch spent over 4.4 million Rubles to produce and release young carp and sturgeon to the Volga River.
