Icebreaker support starts in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya

Pursuant to Resolution No. AeE-75-р of December 26, 2018 taken by the captain of the seaport of Astrakhan and Resolution No. AP-35r of December 26, 2018 taken by the captain of the seaport of Olya, the 2018-2019 winter navigation period of icebreaker support has been announced in these seaports since December 27, 2018.

Earlier, on December 25, 2018, representatives of the Astrakhan Branch and FSBI “The Administration of Caspian Basin Seaports” took part in a session of the icebreaker support headquarters held in the water areas of the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya.

The session focused on the activities of the icebreaker support headquarters during the winter navigation, a preliminary analysis of the ice situation in the north of the Caspian Sea and in the water area of the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya.

Upon completion of the session the participants adopted a resolution on positioning of the Astrakhan Branch icebreakers in accordance with the next scheme. The Kapitan Chechkin will be used in the water area of the seaport of Olya. The Kapitan Bukaev will operate in an area of the Volga Caspian Marine Shipping Canal 0-30 kilometer while the Kapitan Metsaik will operate in an area of the Volga Caspian Marine Shipping Canal 30-65.3 kilometers.
