In anticipation of the celebrations marking Children’s Day the FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan Branch and the Astrakhan transport prosecutor’s office organized excursions for children of Boarding School No 8 on May 28, 2019 to attend the Kapitan Bukaev icebreaker in order to promote maritime professions among young people.

During the excursions, children saw over the pilot bridge, the engine space and studied the icebreaker’s general assembly.

The icebreaker’s captain, Roman Orlov, who conducted an excursion on the vessel, told the children about the purpose of the icebreaker, the specifics of its work in the water area of the Volga-Caspian Marine Shipping Canal during the winter navigation period.

Roman Orlov answered the children’s questions about the specifics of the work of ship drivers, engineers and electrical officers and told them about the most interesting moments from everyday life of the icebreaker’s crewmembers.
